Have you ever felt depressed or down, and then tried to remember why you felt down in the first place, and then you can't remember, and then you get happy? Yeah, that happens to me alot.

On morning devotions:

"Many saints, rising from their beds at the first blush of dawn, have found the poetry of nature to be the reality of grace as they have felt the dews of heaven refreshing their spirits. Hence, morning devotions have always been dear to enlightened, heaven-loving souls, and it has been their practice never to see the face of dawn until they have first seen the face of God. The breath of morn redolent with the smell of flowers is incense offered by earth to her Creator, and people should never let the dead earth excel them in praising their God.
....The eye of day opens its lids and, in so doing, opens the eyes of hosts of heaven-protected slumberers. It is fitting that those eyes should first look up to the great Father of Lights, the Fount and Source of all the good upon which the sunlight gleams. It promises for us a day of grace when we begin our day with God; the sanctifying influence of the season spent in heavenly places influences each succeeding hour.
Morning devotions anchor the soul, so that it will not very readily drift far away from God during the day. They perfume the heart so that it smells fragrant with piety until nightfall; they hold up the soul's garments so that it is less apt to stumble; they feed all their power so that the soul is not permitted to faint.
The morning is the gate of the day and should be well-guarded with prayer. It is one end of the thread on which the day's actions are strung and should be well-knit with devotion."

"Morning and Evening" by Charles Spurgeon

Spurgeon uses very flowery rhetoric to get his point across, but gets it across nonetheless. If you're not a morning person like I am, perhaps it's time to reassess our times of devotions, if in fact we do our devotions. And by morning, I'm not talking about 2 am here people.

On a side note, isn't it cool how Spurgeon talks all old english like?? I bet that back in his day, he was a stud. He could have all the ladies swoon over him by saying things like "Come hither" and "thou" and "ad-ver-tiss-ment" and many other phrases. Makes me think about the english language, and how much more there is to it than today's clever phrases like "Wsup" and "werrrrrrrrrrrrrd". Not that I have anything against those phrases, but it just makes you think.

Perhaps I shall begin to speak like Charles Haddon Spurgeon did. Maybe it'll be a great tool for evangelism. People will be like "ohh, listen to that asian kid. He talks all old english and proper and stuff. Let's listen to what he's got to say". Yeah - that would be tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite. Or I mean - heavens that would be smashing!

I hope everyone is doing well. Yeah, somehow my posts start off trying to encourage people in their walks, but they always end up silly. Oh well. Until next time, good day.

Food is important for the human body. And it is also important to your happiness, yes mine and yours. I love it when I find a good place to eat, and it's cheap too. So here are some of my most favorite places to eat, and the food that I order at these places.
In no particular order,
- Chipotle. MMMMM HMMMMM
- Flamers, in Towson Mall Food Court. Bacon Cheddar Burger Combo (#2). Oh so good, cuz it's really flamed. Pay no attention to the name of this place....anybody is welcome.
- Samos. Gyros. 2 of em. Introduced to me by Paul Han, and very good with warm people. Bring cash though, because they don't take card or check. old skoooooooool.
- Chipotle. Burrito with steak, pinto beans, rice, chili corn, sour cream, cheese, lettuce.
- Mini Mart. Chicken Parmesean Sub, Chicken Salad, etc etc. Many good subs here. Many Middle Eastern guys here. Hurry here because they're tearing it down soon.
- Jungeun's house. Whatever is available. Food is excellent, and free. Service from waitress/girlfriend is so-so. (please don't get mad at me)
- Seoul, South Korea. EVERYTHING.
- Chiptole. Burrito bol, chicken, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, lettuce.
- My apartment. Oatmeal with milk, with peanut butter and golden grahams.
- Yogi's house. Usually curry, stir fry, or chicken. Most gracious host. Be sure to get there before James Lieu gets home from college park, so you can take his food, and then he'll act like everything is ok, but you know he's really mad inside cuz you took his food.
- An Loi. Pho. Numbah Wan Lahh (Number One Large) . Order from the really small man that wears the really tight shirts. You know why they're tight? Because they're women's shirts. They taper at the bottom.
- Chipotle. Chips and Guac.
- Boston Market. Sweet Potato. Kane.
- Panera. Pick two, with broccoli and cheddar soup, and asian sesame chicken salad.
- Nam Kang. Budae Jungol. OHHHH YEAHHHHH.
- Blimpies. Tuna Melt, provolone, on wheat. A sure winner.
- Scott Burkholder's house. Coffee.
- Church. Only a dollar. Very good. Much thanks to the church members who prepare our food.
- Applebee's. Half off appetizers.
- Chipotle. Chicken burrito, chili corn, guacamole.
- IHOP. International Passport breakfast, or the country griddle cakes combo. And, corn cakes. MMMMMMM.
- Denny's. MEAT LOVER'S SKILLET.
- Sam's club. pizza, hot dogs, ginormous drinks, really cheap.
- Fuddruckers. Turkey Burger.

This is all for now. I LOVE FOOD.

Good day.

Going back to my home church is always an interesting experience. For instance during lunch after service with my friends, they kept referring to me as Chris Min from the Lakers, because it sounds so much like Chris Mihm. And the youth group kids grow too fast, fast like a cat. And Dallas' weather changes really often, really often like a cat. But my parents are really funny, really funny like a cat. But really, those youth group kids grow like radishes.

It's December 26th, the day after Jesusmas. This is the time of year where people go back to work, say goodbye to their holiday cheer, and rush to department stores to return their gifts that they've received. I'm glad December 26th was on a Sunday this year. I was once again reminded in service that Jesusmas is all about Jesus, hence the name, and that Jesus' birth signifies a great new promise born in a little child. It means hope is born in the midst of darkness, and that there is a new beginning for everyone who chooses to accept God's perfect gift. For those of you that feel real empty right about now, it may be because you've missed the true meaning of the holiday.

Let's put the Jesus back into Jesusmas. And it's not your own birthday we're celebrating, no it's not. And despite all the gifts you gave to your friends, loved ones, and even family, it's not their holiday either. Remember, if you already haven't, to give Jesus his birthday gift this year. After all, I mean, He did give you eternal life. And who celebrates a person's birthday by giving presents to everyone else except for the birthday man Himself? Likewise, we should give our first fruits to Him. Let's give Him our hearts, our time, our devotion, our obedience, and our attention.

On a different note, I'm glad that radio stations like uplifting and encouraging 95.1 WRBS and safe for the whole family WGTS (children's giggles) 91.9 will play other songs besides Christmas ones. Before coming home to Dallas I found myself wanting to ask Mary, did you know, that your baby boy, would one day walk on water, along with Clay Aiken and the Katinas. I enjoy Christmas songs as well, but at one point you run out of Christmas songs and play the same ones over and over again. So I am excited for some variety.

My girlfriend is coming here tonight, to Dallas. We're gonna have alot of fun. So much to do, so little time. Finally, she will be able to see why I am such a weird man and why I have quirks and personality: my family. My family is funny. My girlfriend is the best. Oh, this is so special.

My dad just came into the store, and he caught me blogging while I'm supposed to be working. Now I am in big trouble. Bye.

In light of intersession coming up, here is a repost of a past entry:

Me and Alice were in the library. Our conversation was as follows:

Alice: Hey oppa are you staying during intersession?
Me: Yup
Alice: Oh.
Alice: Are you taking any intercourse sessions?
Me and the rest of the table: stare blankly O_o
Alice: What?
Alice: Oh I mean are you taking any intersession courses?

Here is another convo that took place recently, in my car:

(Alice, doing something while trying to talk to me)
Alice: Ahhh!! I can't do alot of things at once.
Alice: I can't...what do you call it? Double manage?
Alice: Yeah. I can't double manage.
Me: Um...you mean...
Me: Multi-task?

Here is another convo, between me and someone who shall be anonymously named as Jung Eun Son:

Jungeun: Oh! I still have that advil you gave me.
Jungeun: I forgot to eat the advil. (translated directly from Korean, "Yak muh guh." What a fob.)

This is what happened when Jungeun and I came back from the holiday party:

We had just arrived back at her house, and Jungeun was so tired that she went and laid in her bed, dress and all. After I leave, her mom goes upstairs to tell her to change and then sleep. Due to her lack of compliance, Jungeun's mom tries to get her daughter out of her dress and change her into her pj's. Then Jungeun, in a half-conscious tired state, proceeds to hit her mom in the head, as Jungeun points with her finger at the wall, saying "He's stupid. He's stupid." Her mom, bewildered and injured, leaves her quietly.
The next day, Jungeun's mom asks why she hit her, and who she kept calling stupid. Jungeun, staring blankly, says "Huh? I don't remember anything."

I guess that around this time of year, people do crazy things, and common sense goes out the window. It is a most special time of year.

"Not to us, O Lord, not to us
but to Your name be the glory,
because of Your love and
faithfulness"
Psalm 115:1

Wisdom, Vision, Self-Forgetfulness, Dependence, Leadership, Humility, Obedience, Service.

This is way too much time.

why is time passing sooooo slowly......

Talking at Levering, and some things that I used to do in elementary school that were popular and undoubtedly other people did too:

1) Crumple up a piece of notebook paper so much and try to make it really soft, and then compare it with kleenex to see if you succeeded, and then offer that really soft notebook paper to someone that needs to blow their nose
2) Play with rubber cement, i.e. roll it into balls, put your finger in it and let it dry, throw it at people...
3) Sharpen your pencil and then throw it up into the ceiling so it would stick
4) Spitballs with the tube of your pen
5) Fold chinese stars and other various things
6) POGS (and slammers) and Magic cards
7) Wrist slapping bracelets, that were really cool cuz they were straight and then you slapped them on your wrist and they rolled on, and were really cool and really cool until they got banned from your school because someone's wrist slapping bracelet went wild and hit someone in the eye
8) Hyper color tshirts...it was gross when people tried to breathe on you to change the colors
9) "Toasteeeeee!!!" (If you don't know what this is, you are SO NOT cool)

Those were the days.
